We want to empower your entire experience from birth to postpartum. We know that work doesn’t stop with the birth of your baby. Sometimes it even brings more questions then birth did. As your postpartum doula we will further support you as you transition into parenthood, and a new family unit. Not only will we support you, but we aid in the transition for siblings, too. We will meet with you to discuss your needs and desires and formulate the right postpartum plan for you.
What Is A Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is someone who comes to your home to provide support, encouragement and knowledge to you and your family as you transition to having baby in arms. Depending on your needs, a postpartum doula may aid in breastfeeding, perform light housework, provide meals, run errands and give you and your family the support and reassurance needed in the first few weeks postpartum.
Different families require different support in the postpartum period. Some families prefer their postpartum doula to attend them during the day, while other families request us overnight to tend to their newborn while they sleep. The average daytime care ranges from 4 – 6 hours per day, 2 or more days per week, for 1 – 12 weeks, while the night shifts may be a bit different. Typically, families may request overnight care for 6-8 hours per night, 3 or more days a week, for 1 – 16 weeks. The overnight clientele are generally working families who may request longer postpartum care, especially in the nighttime hours.
