As time goes on, and I dive deeper and deeper into my birth work journey, my heart wants to do more. I hope to build our community and support women of color in obtaining the birth journey they deserve and desire.

In the United States, African American women are more likely to die from pregnancy-related cause than white women. They also have the highest rates of premature births. African American infants are more likely than white infants to die in their first year of life.

These facts are mind blowing.  As a doula trainer my desire is to be part of the solution and reduce these statistics. My goal is to help lower these rates by training more doulas of color in different communities.

Together we can make a difference.

The Birth Doula workshop normally cost $450.  Recipients of the WOC Scholarship will pay only $55.

I will only consider those who plan on actively attending births and are able to attend a workshop.  I receive many applications and each one is carefully reviewed.  I look for individuals with a passion in birth work, ability to serve the community, and past actions of community support.

Information on Workshop dates and locations can be found here.

Please fill out this application form.
